Insanity

What’s the fun in being so called “normal”

If you have to act so others understand?

Why would anyone want to be “normal”

If they know that it means losing their own hand?

“We’re all mad here”, the Cheshire cat once said

And that is something which I firmly believe.

We’re not of this world, not heavy as lead

But to be light, one must find insanity.

For the real can be just boring and sad.

It’s depressing, but one must be serious,

So we go in search of something that’s glad.

It makes life joyful, we’re not delirious.

And sometimes in life, we find shining light

In the things other people say can’t be real.

Insanity may not always be right,

But it can allow us to finally feel.
